South Africa 14th in the world on LinkedIn members

LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network on the Internet with more than 150 million members in over 200 countries.  The EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region has over 44 million members. How does South Africa rank globally and in EMEA in terms of LinkedIn membership?

South Africa is now 14th in the world in terms of LinkedIn members.  It now has 1,7 million   members.Below  is a snapshot of how South Africa stands in the EMEA region.

LinkedIn continues to grow very fast with more than 2 members joining every second. In South Africa there are currently 10,357 new weekly registrations on LinkedIn.  The number of weekly page views is 3,864,765.

The number of unique weekly visitors is just under 200,000. Given the rate at which membership is growing I expect these figures to keep increasing. I have recently seen a flurry of activity on  LinkedIn, certainly much more than in the past.

Have you seen any changes in your network on LinkedIn? I would love to hear your comment and observations.
